Planula Divers Retreat, Byron Bay

The cooler water must have scared off the Leopard Sharks, because there weren’t many of them this week. A few squid hovering mid-water, Spanish Dancers (Hexabranchus) and their egg ribbons, loads of Blue-spotted Stingrays and some Numbrays, besides the usual stuff like Blue Gropers, turtles, parrotfish, anemonefish, lionfish and moray eels. No Leopard Sharks this week. The Blue-spotted Stingrays make up for that and can be seen lying on the sand, piled on top of each other.
