Koala at the Blues Fest in Byron Bay
10,000 people gazed up into the trees during the last 2 days of the Blues Fest at Belongil Fields, where a Koala was seemingly happy munching away on some gum leaves. Right between the main tent, the Mojo, and the small Juke Joint …
The Koala attracted quite a bit of press and the long lenses of the reporters that were meant to photograph artists faces and instruments from far away were used to get close-ups of this unusual sight at a massive music festival.
Even locals were stunned to see that Belongil Fields has become a Koala habitat – we can only hope it remains that way and that the gum trees that provide the food for these fascinating native animals remain protected from human destruction.
