Collector Urchin
(Pseudoboletia maculata)
This sea urchin
likes to collect all kinds of rubble, like pieces of shell, bits of
algae and small rocks. Sea urchins are very much underappreciated
and have a very important job: preventing reefs to be overgrown with
algae. Take your time and have a closer look. Not only are there several
different species all around Julian Rocks, they also have a quite
interesting anatomy and biology.
