Common Lionfish
(Pterois volitans)
Several species
of lionfish can be found at Julian Rocks. Funnily enough most of the
time it will be the Common Lionfish you see. The adults can be easily
recognised by the line of white dots on its side. They love to just
hang upside down mid-water and are a great photographic subject as
you can get fairly close to the bigger ones.
