Tall-fin Batfish
(Platax teira)
Besides the Humped
Batfish (Platax batavianus) we do not see any othe batfish
species at Julian Rocks. This species is easily distuinguished by
the dark spot on its belly. A fantastic companion on safety stops
as they love to hang out mid-water, probably wondering what those
funny people are doing. They sometimes feed at the rocky reefs or
'roll' in the sandy patches.
